Welder
Welders will often need to be 'coded' which means they have had their work tested and assessed to achieve a certain certificate (or code). Class 1 welders are tested to a higher standard than Class 2. ASME 9 is the most common certificate you will come across. Welding can be structural; working on the metal beams that form part of a buildings support structure, railings, fencing or various metal fittings around site, bbut you also have fabricator welders, a role which combines the skills of a fabricator (cutting, shaping, and joining metal) and a welder (using heat and tools to join metal) to create metal products, often working in factories or metal shops or welding pipework to a high level.
