Pipefitter

Similar to a plumber but regularly deals with barrel (screwed) pipework. This is often iron or steel pipe that is 'threaded' using a threading machine so lengths can be screwed. It comes in many sizes but it's often used for piping-up fancoil units, the larger pipework in plant rooms or connecting chiller units on the roof. Some larger pipe can also be pre-fabricated away from site and fitted using flanges which are tightened with bolts.
